2008 list first published July 21, 2008. Revised 05.08.2008, 31.08.2008

This is the start-of-season revision. It incorporates corrections, but no events played later than the end of May 2008. The printed list, available from the ECF Office @ £23.50, is identical to it. Further online revisions will appear from time to time as more corrections come in, but the present edition will be official throughout the season for eligibility purposes in ECF Standardplay competitions. For this reason, grades which have changed since first publication are not highlighted in this edition. Further changes, in later editions, will be highlighted.

You can choose to see active players only (those with a current grade). Or you can include inactive players who are not currently graded but have been graded in the past. To display a player's full details, including all his grades since 1994, click on his grading code ('Ref').

"NEW GRADES"
appear here for the first time.

The central grading team has been working on a complete revision, designed to undo the perceived deflation of grades over the years. The switch to "New Grades" is planned for 2009-10.

For the coming season, Old Grades (as in this list) remain current. However, New Grades have been calculated for 2008 and they are shown in this list, alongside the Old Grades, for reference. (To see them, display the player's full details by clicking on the grading code.)

Why are New Grades needed? How have they been calculated? What will the effect be? See "New Grades" in the menu on the left.
